Council is inviting you to share your thoughts on bike jump facilities at BJ Hubbard Reserve and across the municipality.
Council has recently undertaken an assessment of unauthorised bike jumps in BJ Hubbard Reserve and has found that the jumps have been constructed within parts of BJ Hubbard Reserve that are close to residential properties and are impacting local vegetation and bushland areas.
As a result of Council’s assessment, jumps that have been deemed unsafe, or in an unsuitable location, will be removed, or modified within the next two weeks. We will then undertake bushland rejuvenation works in the area to return it to its natural state.
Council is also undertaking a strategic review of our current bike jump facilities across the municipality. This includes assessing the demand for additional facilities in areas such as BJ Hubbard Reserve.
We are inviting local residents, community and bike enthusiasts to join us in developing an approach to establish bike jump facilities in Maroondah that are respectful to our local environment and can be managed and maintained by Council in the interests of public safety.
For further information, please contact Council on 1300 88 22 33 or 9298 4598
